Deutsch: Der Vereinte Eingreifverband oder englisch Unified Task Force, abgekürzt UNITAF, war eine von den Vereinten Nationen unterstützte Mission mit dem Ziel, das von Bürgerkrieg und Hungersnot betroffene Somalia zu stabilisieren. Die UNITAF wurde von den USA geleitet, es beteiligten sich aber auch mehrere andere Länder. Der Einsatz dauerte von Dezember 1992 bis zum Mai 1993, als er von der UNOSOM II abgelöst wurde.

English: Unified Task Force (UNITAF) was a United States led, United Nations sanctioned multinational force which operated in the Republic of Somalia from 5 December 1992 to 4 May 1993. A United States initiative (code-named "Operation Restore Hope"), UNITAF was charged with carrying out United Nations Security Council Resolution 794: to create a protected environment for conducting humanitarian operations in the southern half of the Republic of Somalia.

Italiano: Unified Task Force (UNITAF) fu una missione sancita dall' Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite allo scopo di stabilizzare la situazione in Somalia a fronte di un crescente stato di anarchia e di grave carestia. UNITAF, conosciuta anche come Operazione Restore Hope, avvenne sotto il controllo USA, ma anche col supporto di personale di altre nazioni.
